Professional Review and Endorsement

If you need a professional opinion and a non-biased perspective on a character design, a story concept, a script, an animation pilot, a mobile app, a cartoon product design or even a virtual world for kids, this service will give you exactly that. I will study your product in detail and give you a detailed report with my professional opinion. Where relevant, I will also draw references and comparisons with similar products to suggest ways to differentiate or better your product.

This helps you in two ways.

1. If your product needs to be tweaked, I will give you my objective views on how I think it can be improved to be made more marketable and relevant.
2. If and once I think that your product is shining bright and pretty, I will gladly give it my full endorsement in writing and you can use this as a reference when speaking to potential partners or investors. You can also publish this on your website or any printed publication.

Polishing
I also provide a service called ‘Polishing’. Basically this is where I get my hands dirty and guide you step-by-step on how to improve whatever it is you are doing. I will make very detailed notes on where I think the product needs improving and work with you until we are both happy that the end result is a polished piece of work we can both be proud of.
(Note – For projects that involve illustrations such as character designs, character bibles and style guides, I can assign one of my best artists to work with me on making suggestions to improve the artwork where necessary.

Professional Review and Endorsement Services

Portfolio review – I advise job seekers what to brush up in their portfolios and give them my hearty recommendation if and once I am impressed with the standard.

Character design review (per character) – I will review one character design and make suggestions on how to improve it to make it relevant to the specific purpose, giving references and examples.

Character design review + Polishing – I will not only review the character design but also assign one of my artists to improve on it.

Story concept review – The story concept is the beginning of everything and the single most important element that will determine everything else. If it’s not interesting or unique enough it is just not going to cut it. I will review your story concept thoroughly and suggest ways to improve it so that it is marketable, relevant to your target market and good for pitching, making detailed notes and giving references and examples in the process.

Story concept review + Polishing – I will not only review your story concept but also polish your concept, working closely with you to give it a solid one-up boost.

Character bible review – Character bibles are crucial for effectively presenting your story concept, character designs and other elements within the story to an investor, distributor, studio or network. I will review your character bible thoroughly and suggest ways to improve the descriptions and presentation so that it is marketable, relevant to your target market and good for pitching, making detailed notes and giving references and examples in the process.

Style guide review- Style guides are crucial for effectively presenting your intellectual property to licensees and licensing agents. Style guides differ from character bibles such that they showcase the potential of a cartoon property translated to products and merchandise. I will review your style guide thoroughly, tell you what’s missing and suggest ways to improve the descriptions and presentation so that it is marketable, making detailed notes and giving references and examples in the process.

1. My fees for the various services are written clearly above.
2. Please determine which of my service you require and click on the Paypal button above to make your payment for the corresponding service.
3. I recommend that you consider my basic Review service (without the Polishing) first, and after the Review I can advise if you do need my Polishing service. In such an instance, you just have to foot the balance for the Polishing service.
4. Once payment has been made, please send me an email at aldric@aldricchang to give me your Paypal receipt number and questions.
5. I will always endeavor to respond within 1-2 working days, unless I am on an overseas assignment.
6. To get the most out of this arrangement, please be as cooperative and collaborative in showing me your materials. Don’t be at any point in time be shy and show me everything you’ve got in relation to the product. I’m here to be your mentor and give my most objective opinions to you.
